CENSUS

RETURNS

FOR

HARVINGTON

1901

The census was taken on the 31st March 1901, a day or so before or after would have affected the listing with those who had not arrived or had moved on. The enumerator was Thomas Amos, aged 34 and lived at The Shakespeare Inn.

Unfortunately Thomas Amos did not follow a consistent route around the village coupled with the fact that he styled most properties as in Village Street and like all previous census' properties did not carry names. This makes it difficult to match up families and their homes. Nevertheless by viewing the much more detailed 1911 census plus supplement material it has been possible to locate the residences of many of Harvington's residents.
